The 3rd International Conference on Filipino As a Global Language was successfully held on August 3-5, 2012 at the College of St. Benilde International Conference, De La Salle University, Manila with the theme: “Filipino Language and Culture: Issues and Challenges for the 21st Century” (Ang Wika at Kulturang Filipino: Iba’t Ibang Isyu at Hamon ng Siglo 21). This was sponsored by the Global Consortium for the Advancement of Filipino Language and Culture (GLOCAFIL) under Dr. Ruth Elynia S. Mabanglo and the Pambansang Samahan sa Linggwistika at Literaturang Filipino (PSLLF) headed by Dr. Teresita F. Fortunato, with the collaboration of the Philippine Department of Education (DepEd) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

The 1st International Conference was held in March 2008 (Hawaii), and the 2nd was in January 2010 (San Diego) as organized by CTFLC under its President Rosalina V. Idos.
